Release Mechanisms
Fusible Link
Consists of a soldered link design to melt in a fire condition which either releases the drop weight on a manual door or clutch on electrically operated doors activating the closure mode. This system cannot be linked to the fire alarm.
Manual Solenoid Release
This mechanism is designed to be linked to the fire alarm (by others). On receipt of a 24V DC signal the solenoid will release the drop weight or brake unit. The unit can be reset manually.
Automatic Reset Solenoid
Again designed to be connected to the fire alarm (by others). Upon receipt of a 24V DC signal the clutch will disengage allowing the door to close under controlled descent. When the door is returned to the ‘open’ position after removal of the fire signal the solenoid will reset automatically. This is the most common set-up and ideal for frequent testing.
Manual Controlled Descent
This system is a manual motor type unit and as standard incorporates controlled descent facility.
