General Specifications

Shutter
Constructed from 75mm continuously interlocked steel laths, which are held in place by steel end locks to prevent lateral movement complete with ‘T’ section bottom rail.
Guides
Galvanised guide channels are manufactured from 3mm material. Guides are fixed to the jambs of the opening with continuous angles complete with slotted fixings to allow for expansion. Manual shutters have a secondary channel to cater for a drop weight mechanism (see modes of operation).
Barrel Assembly
Constructed from a seamless steel tube, the wall thickness being governed by the shutter size. Integral helical wound springs to ensure correct door balance and ease of operation.
End Plates
These are mounted above the opening height to support the weight of the roller barrel and the curtain assemblies. The endplates are formed from 5/6mm mild steel plate and are sized to accommodate the weight of the shutter together with the wrap of the curtain around the barrel.
Hoods
Manufactured from 20swg galvanised material to suit the size of the endplates.
Support brackets are required on shutters over 4000mm wide to provide additional stability in a fire condition. Electrically operated
shutters with a clear opening height of 2500mm or less also require a motor cover to comply with health & safety.
Finish
Majority of the parts are galvanised as standard with any steel parts being finished with one coat of primer. Powder coat finishes to BS or RAL colours are also an option.
